Unusah Aziz

Unusah Aziz is currently a PhD candidate in the School of Geography at the University of Leeds. He attended the University of Ghana, where he received his MPhil in Migration and International Security. His research interests are deeply rooted in discourses pertaining to power dynamics and decolonisation theory, particularly Carceral spaces (prisons and witch camps), policing, and LGBTQIA+ rights in West Africa. His current PhD research delves into the complex realm of prisoner transfer, specifically examining the phenomenon within the context of forced migration, with a particular focus on the prison system of Ghana.
Responsibilities
- Attend RGS research group events
- Circulate CGWG events via personal and professional networks
- Offer additional support for tasks such as attending events, abstract selection, CGWG prize assessment, and ECR programme development, etc.
